IMPORTANT INFORMATION for attendees of the Commission F Triennial symposium in Ottawa in April 2013.

Subject: delegates from some countries may need VISAs to enter Canada, and even those from the U.S. now need a passport.
 

Dear Colleague

If you are considering attending the Commission F Triennial symposium in Ottawa at the end of April, it is important that you check with the Canadian embassy or visa office nearest you, as soon as possible in order to determine the visa requirements necessary for you to enter Canada.  Persons from most countries, including U.S. citizens and children traveling between the United States and Canada, are required to present a valid passport at the border.  For a detailed list of countries and entry requirements, please refer to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada web page at http://www.cic.gc.ca.  In order to obtain a letter of invitation, you must request it when you register for attendance at the symposium.  An electronic copy is free of charge.  If you require an original copy mailed to you, please select   "Should the letter be mailed to the address above" .  An additional fee of $25. plus tax will be added to your bill in respect of registration.  It can take up to 2 weeks for a letter to reach you by regular mail.
